Kudos to Apple for using an existing open standard this time instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and creating a bunch of non-standard charging accessories in the process.

AirPower is a ripoff. Its Qi, which means you can buy a super cheap pad for like 10-20 dollars but you know apple is gonna overprice it. Heck, you can even make your own qi charger! I'm a huge fan of apple, but not this.

I mean……ehhhhh. I really like Apple, my first phone was a Android phone but it kept breaking without me dropping it or even denting it and the Capacity was kinda odd as it had multiple storage partitions limiting the 8 Gb phone to just 2, I just didn't care for it. So I upgraded to a iPhone 6 and won't go back and while I won't upgrade to a X, I might upgrade to a 8. That said, them talking about innovating wireless charging…….I mean, well, that's been around for awhile on Android, gotta tip my hat to those guys, so I don't think they should've said "innovative". Maybe they mean the pad charges all of them but I don't see how that's more innovative then just regular charging pads. Now if they made the rumored over the air one, then that's another story, not the lackluster multi device charging pad.

By the way they "wireless" charging they showed there isn't even ACTUAL wireless charging; otherwise there would be no need to hook it up to an outlet.

Am I the only one concerned about the long term effects of "wireless" charging on the human body?

This is insane! Apple does this every year, they bring a feature out that's been around for years and act like they invented it???? It's almost like a parody now and not real.

This is not wireless charging… WHY DO COMPANIES KEEP CALLING IT THAT? THERE IS CLEARLY A GIANT CABLE COMING OUT OF THE MAT AND IN TURN IT CREATES AN EVEN MORE CUMBERSOME CHARGER BECAUSE YOU CANT USE YOUR PHONE WHILE IT CHARGES SINCE IT HAS TO BE FLAT ON THE MATT…

Future standard should be true wireless charging, you know, the kind where you can be 1 – 5 metres away from the hub charging your device?
