doubtful. LG And Samsung are staying with the 3.5 headphone jack and i doubt that Google have the "courage" to eliminate headphone jack.

I actually wanted to get one of these for their Android experience. I guess I'll go with a different phone now…

Ok, if it has USB type C then I guess I will let it slide but that is still a bad move.

I'm thrilled. The pros outweigh the cons and anyway, the industry already decided. in 2 years or so all devices will be headphone jack free.

This would be hilarious and so typical. In 2016 Google made fun of Apple stating "Pixel features a headphone jack, satisfyingly not new" and in 2017 they'd just follow the Apple trend like everyone else. Nobody can make changes in the technology world like Apple does.

Hopefully this is the same case for the S8 and is just indeed a prototype. Killing off the headphone jack wouldn't bode well for the Pixel 2

USB-3C has an audio specification. So just replacing the 3.5mm jack that needed to go. Maybe youl need adapters for now but the point is that in future one cable will do it all. Wtf. This is the future. Embrace it!

If every device from NOW got rid of the headphone jack, and replaced it with a Type – C connector, I wouldn't be so fussed… but when theres no advantage to it, and it happens over the course of YEARS, well I just find it annoying.
