The only reason people ,including me, are still buying iphones is because of their software stability and ease of use compared to android.

Still got my Lumia 928. Got it for free, still works like the day I got it in 2012 😊

The two upper corners are useless when viewing photos or videos without zoomed in (black bars appear on the sides), and when they are, the front 'cameras bar' is blocking part of the photo or video (worse, if viewing a 16:9 film, it may be blocking part of it in any cases). Did you guys notice we have to use a wallpaper that is darker on the upper side to conceal the 'cameras bar'? It doesn't make sense when there has to be so many compromises to have the 'edge to edge" screen! The only benefit I can imagine is when reading articles we have a longer view (just like what iPhone 5 did). And better yet, we are back to 3GS times when we had panda colors – front black, back white! Not to mention iPhone X is still water resistant instead of water proof yet! For how many years do we have to wait for something that's meant to be!
The only way to make iPhone X look better is to wait for apps to adapt dark status bar (bye-bye beautiful immersive status bar). And the only awesome features of iPhone X are 1. the swiping of home bar switches apps which is kind of like four finger swipe to switch apps on the iPad, partially makes up for the lack of multitasking on iPhone compared to Android 7; 2. FaceID makes unlocking iPhone as easy as the origin iPhone when we didn't have a password; 3. More compact size.

How does any of those features improve my life other than the fact that phones stop working well after 2 years and one is forced to upgrade.

I waited ages for a different design for the iPhone, but I can't justify £1000 for it. Don't want to go for the iPhone 8 because that design is nearly 3 years old now!

IPhone X was extremely underwhelming. Apple is always playing catch up with technology that has been in phones for years! NOTE 8 for the easy win.

The older I get the more annoyed I am with this fan boy bullshit. If you like android good for you and if you like iphone good for you too.

Think they should have sunk there money into making the fingerprint scanner on the screen ,I’ve a s8 plus and while the apple facial recognition will no doubt work better than Samsung’s at the moment.face unlock is not as intuitive as fingerprint id.first you feel a bit of a jerk holding your phone in a position where the phone recognises you especially if there’s a bit of a delay and secondly you want to be able to unlock your phone when it’s laying flat on a surface for instance .just for a sneaky check for instance .you probably still can use a passcode though so it’s probably ok.just think fingerprint unlock would have been better.

The average consumer won't understand the difference between the X and 8 other than the price… especially the average iPhone user who doesn't care about new features.

The iPhone X is tempting for me because the last iPhone I bought was an iPhone 5. So to me it would be massive upgrade with a lot of new features like 3d touch, bigger screen, better cameras, snappier performance. If you have an iPhone 7 or 6 it may not be enough to fork over a grand.

Guess not enough innovation to get rid of the camera hump. Apple is a joke. But you'll never see a bad review cause most tech reviewers own apple stock and would never call it for the crap it is really is.

This is such a rip off, all the "unique features" are gimmicks, and everything else has been on budget andriod phones for years.

Imagine your gf grabbing your phone and points it at your face then she runs off. You're screwed. She'll get to see all those cat pics you've been hoarding.

What exactly is next generation about the iPhone X? They are copying software features and hardware that other phones have had for years. Come on…
